Kristin Sosnowsky, Co-Director
Kristin Sosnowsky serves as the Executive Associate Dean of the LSU College of Music and Dramatic Arts; Chair of the School of Theatre and also oversees Swine Palace, the School’s affiliated Equity theatre company. In 2015, she served as the Interim Executive Director of the LSU Museum of Art. During her tenure at LSU, she has produced over 40 major professional productions including THE HEIDI CHRONICLES which was performed at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre and Beijing Central Academy of Drama; the world premiere of COCKTAIL which was one of 36 productions selected to represent the United States at the 2011 Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, and the world premiere of SPILL, a multi-media theatre event and visual art installation based on the impact of the Deepwater Horizon disaster. In 2006, Swine Palace was recognized for its work on issues of social justice with the Louisiana Governor’s Arts Award for Outstanding Large Arts Organization and the 13th Annual YWCA Greater Baton Rouge Racial Justice Award. Ms. Sosnowsky is a member of the National Association for Schools of Theatre Commission on Accreditation; serves on the Board of the University Resident Theatre Association and is the Co-Director of the Assocation for Theatre in Higher Education Leadership Institute. Ms. Sosnowsky teaches courses on arts marketing; fundraising and development for the arts; nonprofit financial management; and board development.
Jake Pinholster, Co-Director
Jake Pinholster is the associate dean for Policy and Initiatives in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, and project manager/facilitator of local, regional, and national projects, including the Herberger Design and Arts Corps, FilmSpark, creative placemaking initiatives, extended and professional education programs, and strategic partnerships with more than thirty partner organizations. As former director and professor in the School of Film, Dance and Theatre, Pinholster has been involved in a number of long-term initiatives that fuse technology, interdisciplinarity, and curricular innovation, and he heads two graduate programs in design and digital media. As a creative artist, Pinholster’s efforts have centered on projection and media design and technology for performance. He is an associate artist with Les Freres Corbusier, the resident video designer for the David Dorfman Dance company, and a consulting associate with SK Design and Consulting, specialists in performance facilities and systems for education. His professional media design credits include The Pee Wee Herman Show on Broadway, Carrie Fisher: Wishful Drinking (HBO), Current Nobody (Woolly Mammoth), and many other productions at off-Broadway, regional, and academic venues.
