The ATHE Operations Committee has unanimously approved a shift to a sliding scale membership fee structure. With this new structure, members will self-select a membership rate based on income. (No proof of income or any other aspect of one’s status is required to select the membership rate that best represents your ability to pay). We are moving to this structure, rooted in the consideration of ability to pay and a logic of solidarity, as part of an ongoing effort to increase economic accessibility for current and future ATHE members.

Join or Renew

For the first year implementation of our new membership structure, the membership year will change.

  • All current ATHE memberships will expire on May 15.
  • You may renew or join beginning on April 15.
  • The membership year will run from May 16, 2020 to April 30, 2021.

Organizational Memberships

ATHE is debuting a two-category structure for organizational memberships to give institutions more flexibility to select the option that best reflects their available resources and needs.

Promotion & Marketing Membership - $395

A Promotion & Marketing Membership will allow you to spread the word about your department or program, promote the work of your faculty and students, and connect your department with ongoing conversations about theatre in higher education.

Benefits of this membership include:

  • unlimited free position listings in the ATHE Job Bank;
  • display of your departmental or institutional brochures on ATHE's exhibit table at the annual conference;
  • logo and name of your department/program included on a sponsor page in ATHE’s program book and on the electronic conference program;
