Querida/os Colegas,

I urge you to check-out the incredible national festival of Latina/o theater and performance at the Los Angeles Theater Center From October 12-November 9, 2014--that's two weeks away(!). Go to the Los Angeles Theater Center website, then Encuentro. This is going to be the happening place. The final weekend will be especially wonderful as we bring together many of the people who participated in the Latino Theatre Commons Latino Theater Convening last October-November at Emerson College in Boston. 

The scholars are an important part of this endeavor and Tiffany Ana Lopez and I are gathering a "Circle of Scholars" in an effort to document this historic event. Some of you are also participating on an ASTR Working Group which Tiffany and I are co-chairing in Baltimore, titled "Latina/o Theatre in the 21st Century: Making the Invisible Visible." We expect our collective efforts to result in a collection of essays, interviews, reviews, and other ephemera that takes-off from the Boston Convening, this festival and the subsequent activities of the Latino Theater Commons. 

If you plan to attend, get your tickets now. There are a limited number of festival passes for $75.00 which is quite a savings.
