Research and Publications Committee Seeks Journal Editors

Soyica Colbert, Vice President for Research and Publications, recently issued calls for editors for the association's two journals, Theatre Journal and Theatre Topics. The calls are below.

 

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS for THEATRE TOPICS CO-EDITOR

Theatre Topics is seeking a new journal Co-editor to serve a two-year term beginning August 2015, followed by a two-year term as Editor beginning in August 2017.

Theatre Topics is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes articles and essays exploring subjects at the intersection of theory and practice. Topics is published three times a year.

Given the range spanned by articles appearing in the journal, there is no restriction on the editor’s own area of expertise. The successful applicant must have support from her or his home institution.

  2. a cover letter noting qualifications and a vision for the journal; and
  3. the names and contact information for three recommenders

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS for THEATRE TOPICS BOOK REVIEW EDITOR

Theatre Topics is accepting applications for the position of Book Review Editor. Responsibilities include: commissioning reviews of current books relating to theatre practice and pedagogy that emphasizes intersections of theory and practice; editing reviews; and establishing and maintaining relationships with book publishers. The Book Review Editor is also an ex officio member of the ATHE Research and Publications Committee.

The Book Review Editor will serve a two-year term beginning in August 2015 and ending in August 2017. Theatre Topics is a peer-reviewed journal of theatre practice and pedagogy. It is currently published three times a year.

Please email a letter of interest outlining qualifications, a current CV, and two letters of recommendation to Soyica Colbert, ATHE Vice President for Research and Publications, at rp@athe.org . Complete applications are due by December 1, 2014.

 

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS for THEATRE JOURNAL CO-EDITOR

Nominations and applications are invited for the position of Co-editor of Theatre Journal. The new Co-editor will appear on the masthead from January 2016 through December 2017, and then will become Editor of the journal, serving from January 2018 through December 2019.

The work, however, will begin in August 2015.

The Editor and Co-editor alternate in the preparation of issues for the press and share in the adjudication of manuscripts. The Co-editor also serves as an ex officio member of the ATHE Research and Publications Committee.

Theatre Journal is a quarterly, peer-reviewed journal featuring social and historical studies and theoretical inquiries that analyze dramatic texts and production. Given the range of topics published, there is no restriction on the Co-editor’s own area of expertise. The successful applicant must have support from his or her home institution.
