Conference Committee Announces Keynote Speaker Luis Alfaro

President Appoints Committee to Craft Conference Site Selection Policy

President Henry Bial delivered a letter to ATHE members announcing the appointment of a special Committee on Conferences, charged with "developing a policy to better align ATHE’s conference site selection process with our mission, vision, and values." The Operations Committee "listened to and discussed" members' concerns in the wake of the passage of Arizona's House Bill 2135/Senate Bill 1062 (as well as the prior immigration-related bills, SB1070 and HB2281. ATHE Announces Leadership Institute ® Scholarships for Black Theatre Network Members

The Black Theatre Network Alliance, composed of ATHE and Black Theatre Network (BTN) members, invites BTN Members to apply to the 2014 ATHE Leadership Institute ® July 22-24, 2014, at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort. Following the application submission, BTN member registrants can submit materials to qualify for up to two available scholarships for the institute registration fees. Scholarship applicants must hold current membership in the Black Theatre Network. Read more.


ATHE Adopts Statement on Electronic Publishing 

ATHE is pleased to announce the release of our latest position paper, "The Value of Electronic Publishing for Scholars in Theatre and Performance." The white paper is the result of a collaborative effort between ATHE and the American Society for Theatre Research (ASTR). Read more.

Governing Council Approves ATHE Technology Plan

At its mid-year meetings, the ATHE Governing Council voted to approve a new Technology Plan for the organization. The Technology Plan evaluates ATHE's current technology resources and presents recommendations for the strategic use of technology and technology-related programming. Read more.
