The Association for Asian Performance was founded in 1987 as a forum for scholars and practitioners to exchange and generate information about Asian theatrical performance. AAP promotes the development of new scholarship in all areas of Asian performance, covering geographic regions from the Middle East to Southeast Asia and genres from political theater to dance and popular musicals. We publish the Asian Theatre Journal and present sponsored panels at ATHE, in addition to hosting our own mini-conference each year on the Thursday preceding ATHE. Although our membership consists mainly of Asian theater and performance scholars and specialists, we consider it essential to introduce and explain Asian performance forms to anyone interested in studying, teaching, or viewing them. If you would like to join AAP and reap the many benefits of membership, please contact our Membership & Outreach Coordinator, Man He, at firstname.lastname@example.org or our Secretary/Treasurer, Kevin J. Wetmore, Jr., at email@example.com. More information about upcoming conferences and AAP membership can be found on our Website: http://www.yavanika.org/aaponline/.
