What Is the ATHE Leadership Institute®?

The ATHE Leadership Institute® provides professional development opportunities for faculty members to prepare for leadership roles in higher education and serve more effectively. Since 2000, more than 200 faculty members have participated in the workshops and mentoring. Presenters include national leaders in higher education as well as experienced chairs, deans, and other executives who volunteer their time and expertise to mentor faculty.

Mentoring

Each participant will be matched with a mentor. Mentors and participants will be encouraged to meet with one another during the ATHE conference and arrange to talk periodically during the year following the workshop.

Nomination

All candidates must be nominated by a Chair or Dean with a one-page letter of nomination that should speak to nominees’ leadership potential, interest and/or experience that would allow them to benefit most fully from this experience.

Registration

The ATHE Leadership Institute® registration fees are $550 for ATHE members and $650 for those who are not members. Registration includes all Institute materials as well as a continental breakfast and closing lunch. We hope that the participants will receive registration and travel support from their institutions.

Policies

With written cancellation notice, received by July 14, 2016, you will receive a full refund, less a $25 administrative charge. Cancellations on or after July 15, 2016 are nonrefundable. Notices of cancellation must be faxed to the ATHE office at 651-290-2266. No-shows will not receive refunds.

Photography, Videography & Audio Release

As part of our mission to provide education, best practices and other information from leaders in their fields, speakers, panelists and audience members should be aware that we may record all or part of the events we organize, including comments from speakers, panelists and audience members. The resulting raw and edited materials, including still photographs, video and audio recordings, and associated verbatim transcripts, may be used by ATHE without restriction, in press releases, white papers, conference collateral, websites and other publications.

By attending our events, you acknowledge that you are in a public place, and that attendees (including ATHE volunteers) may capture your image in photos and videos. Nevertheless, ATHE encourages event attendees to exercise common sense and good judgement, and respect the wishes of other attendees who do not wish to be photographed at the events.

ATHE uses photos and videos taken at its events for a variety of purposes, including publication on the ATHE website. If you see any photos or profiles about yourself on www.athe.org that you would like removed, please email emilyf@athe.org.
